The Great Pretender

The duo exhibition The Great Pretender by two female artists working together for the first time, Gabriele Beveridge and Marge Monko, is inspired by 20th century advertising materials and showcases. Gabriele Beveridge will present new sculptural works constructed on the basis of shop-fittings, hand-blown glass, photographic chemicals and mannequin parts. Marge Monko will exhibit a series of photographs of window displays, and a new video exploring the connections between stockings and female emancipation. Working in parallel in London and Tallinn, the artists who didn’t know each other before preparing for the exhibition, meet finally at Kai Art Center, creating a visually enchanting and conceptually bright dialogue.
